The hosts for this year world be England and Wales. England will be hosting the world cup after 20 years and it will be exciting to watch the teams play at Lord’s and other significant cricket stadiums.

According to the ICC rankings, top 8 teams automatically made it to the world cup. After that, there were matches between other teams to decide which ones will play in the big tournament. This year, the format of matches will be the same as it was in 2002. All teams will play against each other in a round-robin format. There will be no quarter final matches and the top four teams who win in the robin round stage will go to the semifinal round. There will be a total of 45 matches along with 2 semifinals and a final match.

These matches will be held in 11 different cities of the host countries. Semifinals will be held at Edgbaston and Old Trafford while the final will take place at Lord’s.
